Geolife Youth Club aims to work towards an end to this struggle of "period poverty" many women face. Our purpose here is to help people understand how the menstrual cycle works and teach them how to maintain personal hygiene. The aim of this project is to break the social stigma and do the best to help the socio-economically challenged people in society. we would distribute biodegradable, long lasting menstrual hygiene products to the rural women of India affected by period poverty.
Educating men, women, adolescents from rural areas about sustainable menstrual hygiene is the focal point of the programme. We have also taken the initiative to not only create awareness about the need to switch to more sustainable sanitary products like the menstrual cups and biodegradable sanitary pads, but also donate them to those who do not have access to such options.
We believe that menstruation should never come in the way of daily life, therefore we have collaborated with sustainable menstrual hygiene brands like Saathi Pads and Asan Cups. We have procured biodegradable sanitary pads and biodegradable menstrual cups of premium quality. With the help of this project Red Dot, GYC envisions ending the struggle for women and establishing safe and hygienic menstrual practices.
